Bell Security and Risk Limited

Health and Safety Policy

1. Statement of Intent

Bell Security and Risk Limited will, so far as is reasonably practicable, protect the health, safety and welfare of Nathan Bell and anyone employed, engaged or affected by its work. The Business will comply with applicable health and safety law, client controls and site requirements.

2. Organisation and Responsibility

Nathan Bell, as Owner and Principal, has overall responsibility for health and safety. He may appoint a competent adviser or site supervisor for defined duties. Every worker and subcontractor must cooperate, follow controls, use equipment correctly and stop or report work presenting serious or imminent danger.

3. Planning and Risk Assessment

Work will be planned through suitable and sufficient risk assessment, assignment instructions, method statements and site-specific controls. Competence, lone working, violence, driving, fatigue, manual handling, fire, first aid, welfare, substances and equipment will be considered where relevant.

4. Competence, Information and Training

No person will be assigned work beyond their verified competence. Relevant induction, briefings, licences, qualifications and refresher needs will be recorded. Changes in risk or client instruction will be communicated promptly.

5. Equipment and Personal Protective Equipment

Equipment must be suitable, maintained, inspected and used only by authorised persons. PPE is a supporting control and must be selected from the risk assessment, issued where required and reported if defective or lost.

6. Incidents and Emergencies

Accidents, ill health, near misses, violence, hazards and equipment failures must be made safe and reported immediately to Nathan Bell or the appointed supervisor. Emergency procedures, first-aid arrangements and client contacts must be confirmed before deployment. RIDDOR responsibility will be assessed without delay.

7. Consultation and Welfare

Workers will be encouraged to raise concerns and contribute to safer arrangements. Fatigue, breaks, sanitation, drinking water, temperature, travel and mental wellbeing will be considered proportionately.

8. Monitoring and Enforcement

Nathan Bell will review inspections, incidents, complaints, training and corrective actions. Employee breaches may be managed under the disciplinary procedure; subcontractor breaches may result in removal from site or termination of engagement.

9. Review

This policy will be reviewed annually and after a serious incident, material legal change or significant change in the services, premises or staffing model.
